| The wreck of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha, 1622 is arguably the most famous Spanish shipwreck of all time. The loss and recovery efforts of this wreck have been documented in numerous books, articles, documentaries and even popular movies. Mel Fisher and his group of explorers spent sixteen years searching for this lost Galleon and the treasures that it carried. Found in 1985 the Atocha has been yielding treasures ever since. Ownership of the materials recovered from the Galleons of the 1622 Fleet was awarded to Mel Fisher’s organization in 1982 by the Supreme Court of the United States. Sinclair first started on the wreck of the Atocha in 1979, and Searex Inc. is still a consultant on the Atocha nd MArgarita projects. |

| Nearly 370 years later Mel Fisher the famous treasure hunter would set his sites on this fabulous wreck. During the 16 year xsearch for this wreck he would loose a son an daughter-in-law to the sea. He went to court with the State of Florida and the Federal Government 112 times and was awarded the Atocha in 1982. |
